New Holland Kobelco SK25SR, SK30SR, SK35SR Workshop Manual

I’ve seen too many guys tear into a hydraulic system blind, using some third-party translation of a spec sheet. That’s how you blow a seal or strip a port. New Holland Kobelco SK25SR, SK30SR, SK35SR Workshop Manual is the factory print – 854 pages of the actual data Kobelco built the machine with. No guessing about control valve clearance or pump pressure. It’s all in there.
854 Pages of Factory Specifications
That’s not fluff. The manual splits into four major sections: General, Systems, Components, and Procedure. The General section alone includes PW01 Specification, PW04 Maintenance Standard, PW03 Location and, PW07 Preventive Maintenance, plus Weight of Components and Working Standard. Every fluid capacity, every bearing preload – it’s typed out by the engineers who designed the excavator. You want the charge pressure for the hydraulic pump? Grab the spec table. Need the weight of the upper structure before you sling it? Look up the Weight of Components list.
Hydraulic System and Control Valve: No Room for Error
Systems section starts with PW12 Hydraulic System and PW22 Control System. The Control Valve (item 13 in Components) is the heart of the machine’s hydraulics. The manual gives you the full disassembly sequence, the spool bore clearances, and the torque pattern for the valve body bolts. Skip the alignment marks on the spools and you’ll have drift issues all day. This manual doesn’t let you skip. It also covers the Swivel Joint (item 16) and Other Valves (item 14) – relief valves, check valves, the works.
Does This Manual Cover the Engine and Cylinders?
Yes. Components section lists 50. Engine and 17. Hydraulic Cylinder. For the engine, you get the complete overhaul procedures – head torque sequence, injection timing specs, cooling system data. For the hydraulic cylinder, you get the seal replacement steps, the gland nut torque, and the rod-to-piston clearance limits. If you’re doing a cylinder rebuild on a SK25SR, this manual tells you the exact preload for the piston nut. Use a generic manual and you’re guessing.
Get the Right Torque Specs – Every Time
Torque values are scattered throughout – in the SPECIFICATION tables, in the MAINTENANCE STANDARD section, and inside each component procedure. The TEST PROCEDURE section also gives you pressure test points and flow rates. When you’re working on the SK30SR final drive, you need the bolt torque for the sprocket hub. It’s in there. When you’re bolting the cylinder gland back together on a SK35SR, you need the rod nut torque. Page numbers vary by section, but the data is exact – foot-pounds, not Newton-meter approximations.
Source Authenticity: OEM vs. Aftermarket Documentation
This is a genuine New Holland Kobelco Shop Manual, book code S5PW0001E②. The OCR excerpt shows the original safety warning page – they don’t mess around. Aftermarket manuals often leave out the Warning about reading the Operation & Maintenance Guide before any service. They skip the specific lifting weights for components. This manual includes the weight of every major part so you don’t drop a swivel joint on your foot. I’ve used enough reprints to know they cut corners. This one doesn’t.
If you work on other Kobelco models, check out the KOBELCO SK25SR SK30SR SK35SR Shop Manual for this same machine, or the KOBELCO SK45SR Service Hand book for a larger frame. For the next generation, see New Holland Kobelco SK60 2017 Workshop Manual – 779 Pages of Factory Specs. And if you need background on gear-driven components, the Manual Transmission Wikipedia page covers the basics of final drives. Likewise, the travel system uses planetary gears; understanding Manual Transmission principles helps when diagnosing track motor issues.
- Can I use this manual for the SK30SR even though it covers three models?
- Yes. The manual has separate spec tables and component callouts for each model. Look for the model-specific notes in the SPECIFICATION and HYDRAULIC SYSTEM sections.
- Does it include the electrical wiring diagrams?
- Yes. PW25 Electric System covers the full wiring harness layout, fuse box locations, and connector pinouts. The control system section (PW22) also includes the controller logic for the boom and arm.
- I already have an aftermarket manual. Why buy this one?
- Aftermarket manuals often skip the MAINTENANCE STANDARD AND section that lists wear limits for the Valve, Cylinder, and hydraulic motor components. The factory manual gives you acceptable wear measurements and the exact tool numbers for special service tools. If you’re paying a shop rate at home, missing a clearance spec costs you time and parts.
- What is the procedure for removing the swivel joint?
- It’s in the COMPONENTS section under 16. SWIVEL JOINT. The manual gives you the disassembly sequence, the O-ring sizes, and the torque for the mounting bolts. You need to support the machine per the WORKING STANDARD guidelines first.
Don’t waste time with reprints. Download the Factory Manual and get the right data from the start. Every fastener, every pressure, every clearance is waiting for you in those 854 pages.

This is exactly what I needed. It is very easy to read on my tablet without losing quality. It helped me to rebuild my New Holland Kobelco SK25SR transmission. I will recommend this shop to others.
