What Does the Common Rail Fuel Supply Section Cover?
Fuel supply – 3rd generation common rail is on page 18. That section includes the high-pressure pump, rail pressure sensor, and injector return flow test. It also lists the special tools – you will need a fuel pressure gauge rated to 2,900 psi. Never deadhead a common rail system without bleeding procedures. The manual spells that out. If you skip to page 21 for the Piezo injector, you will miss the pre-injection stroke detail that prevents fuel dilution.
3 Engine Variants Explained
